WE MOVED!!

Yes! We did it! We have officially acquired a mortgage and a place of our own! The pros triple, no triple triple the cons of home ownership. We have 2,400 square feet to organize our possessions instead of the 150 square feet we were living with. We can do and decorate things our way without having to worry what others prefer. We got so lucky with this house and plan to be here for decades!

The house is in Perry, Utah and cuts David's commute to work in half (15 mins down from 30). We live on the bench with Ben Lomond Mountain granting us a great view from our backyard. On the other side, from our front windows, we can see the beautiful valley including Brigham City and north side of Willard Bay (lake, marshes, and all). Sunsets are amazing!

It is so quiet out here and every evening we get to hear an owl whoo and watch hawks and eagles glide through the air. Our ward and neighbors are great. In less than two weeks we have been visited by our Elders Quorum President multiple times, and various neighbors have welcomed us, even bringing us loaves of bread. A stark contrast to other place(s) we have lived. Unpaking and settling in always takes so long.

We have done a bit of work on the house with many more plans. Completed items mainly include changing plugs and painting. We also got our HUGE front window (10 feet by 5 feet) replaced today. Now we will no longer be able to tell people we moved into the house with the broken window, lol. But better yet, our view of the valley got that much better!

Future projects include enlarging the pantry and making the door fit better with the kitchen, installing a new energy star front door with large window, increasing head clearance on our stairs to the basement, moving a room from one side of the family room to the other, and converting the awkward family room set up into a perfect game and movie room.

Both fire places (natural gas) have served us well so far. From enjoying a night by the fire in our living room to warming up downstairs while our window was being replaced.

Outside we plan to install a pond, two waterfalls/streams, a ground level trampoline, and a garden. We will provide shade by building an awning and growing a kiwi vine on it! We have a large shed out back that will house our lawn and garden stuff. We will also be installing a greenhouse and a couple compost piles.

Tyson has adjusted well to the new home, and Mommy is doing a great job with him.

All in all, we are very happy and very tired during this great time of our lives. We are excited to continue with the projects we have planned for our own stuff, and our own family!
